Bike and Barge in Germany

The Patria is 68 metres long and can accommodate max. 68 guests; the vessel is operated under Dutch flag & management and has been modernized to accommodate bike-boat holidays. This Bike & Boat tour leads along the Moselle and Saar The journey along the Moselle and Saar leads from Koblenz to Saarburg, and the return trip takes place the following week from Saarburg back to Koblenz. On various dates, the PATRIA also sails along the Rhine and the Neckar from Koblenz to Bad Wimpfen, and a week later it makes the return journey from Bad Wimpfen back to Koblenz, both tours with highlights like Heidelberg, Worms and Mainz. A combination of such routes therefore allows a perfect match with a particularly diverse 14-day bike-boat holiday.

The ship has 34 twin cabins (each approx. 8 M², 2 single beds next to each other) with windows (windows on the upper deck can be opened, but for safety reasons those on the lower deck are fixed), shower + toilet, individually regulated air conditioning in all cabins on the lower deck, as well as in the restaurant and salon. There are 15 cabins on the lower deck and 19 cabins on the upper deck (surcharge). The salon and bar on the upper deck are fitted with large windows, the restaurant is on the lower deck. Partly covered sun deck with seats and tables for alle passengers and a cycle shed.

The itinerary of this Bike & Boat tour along Germany's oldest trade route - the Rhine River - reads like an excursion into history: The Dome of Worms, Nibelungen Gate, the historic old town and castle ruin of Heidelberg, and the intimidating fortification of Koblenz.

Between all these places, you cycle through lovely historic villages with half-timbered houses, small alleys and then again past vineyards and idyllic river meadows. Enjoy a varied and highly interesting cycling adventure through Germany's south-western region.
