The History of MPS-NOORDERZON

1931 The Noorderzon, formerly known as Hilde F, was built in Veendam. The boat was built as a freight ship on the ship-yard by the Groll brothers. The Hilde F sails in the eastern part of Holland.

From 1931 to 1999 the freight ship had many names; ending eventually with the Noorderzon, and idea of converting the boat into a 4-star hotel boat was born.

1999/2000 The renovation of the Noorderzon was finished and the hotel boat became fact.

2001 The current owners Bart Wijn and Leontien van Deuren bought the Noorderzon. They renovated the boat to a comfortable, light and proper hotel boat. the owners have empathized with the wishes of their guests. The cabins are fairly spacious and have private facilities. From the living room you have a wonderful view. On deck one can speak of a green oasis. 2002 Bart and Leontien started their first bike-and-barge holiday trip on the Noorderzon.

2004 The Clawa foundation awarded the accommodation of the Noorderzon with 4 ****!

• First-class full board (VP+): Three extensive meals a day (breakfast, lunch and a 3 courses dinner);
• Halfway a 7-day trip there’s a change of towels; no extra activities are required of passengers

You will pass more than 10 different rivers and we will visit for example the cities Weesp, Utrecht, Vianen, Culemborg, Buren, Gorinchem, Dordrecht, Kinderdijk, Schoonhoven, Gouda, Woerden en Uithoorn.

South Holland Amsterdam - Weesp - Haarzuilens - Utrecht - Vianen - Gouda - Schoonhoven - Kinderdijk - Rotterdam - Delft - Den Haag - Leiden - Haarlem - Amsterdam.

The Polderroute Discover the IJsselmeerpolder with its unique man-made landscape. We will visit for example the cities Lelystad, Urk, Lemmer, Emmeloord, Zeewolde and Almere.
